16 Hours to Yellowstone

We drove to Idaho for the Bushman Family Reunion! It was so great to see all of our family. It took about 16 hours in the car to get there. We drove through the night the first day and then stopped to visit some friends and family in Utah. On our way up we got in a little accident. A Budget truck hit the back end of the van as we were parked in a McDonald's parking lot eating. Lucky for us it only clipped the back tail light, even though it sounded like the whole rear-end was collapsing in right by Taylor's car seat! Glad it was a rental!

There were probably hundreds of buffalo in Yellowstone cruising around in open fields. Many times we even had to wait in the car for awhile while they crossed the roads at their leisurely pace. They didn't seem to care much about the cars. And weighing in around 2000 lbs. we let them do whatever they wanted!

Here's our family in front of a geyser! We thought it was Old Faithful, but it wasn't. We were impressed until we really saw Old Faithful--about 20 times bigger than this one.

Here's Taylor hanging out the window with a grizzly bear in the background. We watched the bear for about a half and hour until it turned toward our van and started to sniff the air. We got outta there pretty fast.

Here's the fam again in front of the Upper Falls in Yellowstone. It was a gorgeous park, but about the longest day of my life in the car. It took about 9 hours just to drive around the amazingly huge park and see all the sites and animals!Do our smiles look fake...? Phew.

Those are some great pictures, I almost felt like I got to see the beautiful land and area that is so awe inspiring.
