Pumpkin Pumpkins All Around!

This year my friend Tory had an idea from the DIY network to make stacked pumpkin topiaries. Here's the link if anyone is interested. I did mine a little differently, but I love how they turned out. Way easy! I added the instructions below if anyone is dying to know! I love fall decorating. Each topiary cost me about $12 to make.

4. Put the pumpkins on the urn, swirled a cute garland around and tied a ribbon--and it was done.

3. I found the cheapest pumpkins, that I liked, at Wal*Mart. Painted a little brown in the creases to add a little depth. As I was painting them Taylor was watching me and I was telling her about adding depth with color and she was very confused--"Why do you want to add death to the pumpkins?" Anyway, then I stacked them and used a metal rod down through the middles to connect them to some floral foam inside the urn.

2. I added brown on the top of the black to make a dark brown.

1. I already had these urns from a wedding. They were originally tan and so I painted them black first.

Here's an easy pumpkin recipe from my friend Maegan:

Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies
2 Spice Cake Mixes
1 Large Can of Pumpkin Pie filling
1 Bag of Chocolate Chips
Mix everything together. Drop onto cookie sheet. Bake 20 minutes at 350 degrees.

I agree! You always have wonderful ideas and are so good at everything. Your Pumpkins look adorable. I went and grabbed my Halloween decorations out of the basement and, well, let's just say they aren't as cute. Josh didn't even want me to put them up. Maybe I will have to get crafty.
