Ellie's Blessing Trip to Vegas

Some of the highlights of the trip:

1. Holding my adorable niece Ellie. I could do this for hours! She is so sweet. I think she looks a lot like Marian. It was so cute to see Marian as a mom, I always knew she would be perfect. Mike is a great Dad too. Ellie is lucky to grow up in their home. She would be a bit luckier if she lived in CA so that she could have her awesome aunties and cousins to pal around with. (Just my opinion..)

2. Being able to be there for Ellie's blessing. Ellie is named after her Great Grandpa and so they had the blessing in his home. A neat spirit was felt there. Mike gave a beautiful blessing and we had fun with all the families together. My whole family, except Tony's family came. My G&G Webb, Aunt Gwen and cousin Crystalee came too!

3.Going to an impersonator show with my sister Hilary. Thanks for giving us your tickets Dad! We saw Elvis, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Michael Jackson and Tim McGraw--the show was pretty good (minus the Vegas costuming). They all had the acts down and half of them really looked like the true person. I think Hil and I were the only ones excited to be there, that crowd was either hungover or asleep...or both.

4. Going to the Red Rock Mountains. We attempted to make a mini day trip and go hiking, but it didn't quite work out the way we wanted. It is hard to plan and carry out anything with all these people, kids, babies and schedules. The view from the car was still beautiful and I have never seen rocks that red before. Gorgeous day too.

5. Playing games. It's so nice to be around people that share my same passion for board games. Tim rarely wants to play with me. I think it's because he's tired of losing all the time :) We played "Last Word", "Curses" and another one that I can't remember the name. The boys played X-Box until late into the night. Sweaty sessions of killing and who knows what else. I would like to say it was nice for Tim to get it all out of his system, but this behavior is unstoppable and only drives his desire for continued obsession.

6. Circus Circus. The last night we were there we took the kids to Circus Circus for the free circus act. The trapeze men were really good, tightly clothed and very foreign. We also rode the indoor roller coaster, which was a blast. I love a good coaster. Taylor rode one too; she hopped in the front seat and had no fear. She was disappointed she couldn't come on the adult one too.

7. Getting free pedicures. Mike's sister Sarah (age13?) has her own business called Sarah's Day Spa. She was very eager to give us pedicures and busted out her entire inventory to service all the girls that wanted one, including Kennedy and Taylor. She has one of those foot bath/massager things and lots of lotions and polishes. Thanks Sarah! It felt so great to be pampered.

8. Making Bows. Marian and I made a few hair bows for our girls. It was nice to just spend time with my sisters and Mom, regardless of what we were doing. We could just hang around the house talking and laughing in our jammies all day long for all I care. Just being with them makes it feel like home.

9. This list is getting long. We truly had a blast. We ate all the Kanet's food, emptied them of their toilet paper and Kleenex stash (T&K had runny noses--just in time to be around the baby!) and made messes wherever we went. They were the best hostesses and now it's our turn to return the favor. We miss you guys already! Come visit soon.

10. Oh, and holding Ellie some more more more. I had to get in enough snuggles to last until the next time I will see her, not until JULY!

Sounds like so much fun, I wish we could have been there. It is hard living so far away sometimes!

What a fun trip! You're so lucky to get to share this time with your family. It's also alway great to hold a sweet baby that you don't have to get up in the middle of the night for!

Hey Sarah! I have a sister in Las Vegas too! We're living in Clearlake for now. I want to move back to Loomis so bad! It probably won't happen for another few years though, we're needed so badly in our ward right now. Jason is the YM pres. and I'm the Primary pres. it's crazy! Anyways, my family is pretty huge huh!?
