Happy Father's Day!
Me and my Dad. Isn't he handsome! We had a great night at my parent's house enjoying each other's company and talking about our fathers and the ways we love them. I learned so many things from my Dad's example: he has extreme work ethic & honesty, he loves a good cheesy joke, he has a big HUGE heart and loves to help the underdog, he is such a hands on grandpa to my girls and they love him to death too.
Tim and his Dad. It was fun to bust him out of the care home and take him for some good eats and some real conversation to listen to. I love to hear about Tim's memories of his Dad. He has so many fun memories of skiing, boating, building things and being creative. I see a lot of Tim in his Dad whenever I hear all these things. I never got to know Foy before, so it's great to at least hear it secondhand.
We can't have Father's day without "surprising" him in bed with breakfast. I always feel a little bad taking this picture (since he JUST woke up). It's a good thing there was a shirt for a present to put on :) Tim was very specific on his breakfast request this year: sausage & egg sandwich with mayo, honeydew melon and I know he loves a few donut holes! Tim is the sweetest Daddy to the girls. When we were dating I watched very closely how he interacted with his nieces and nephews and this is one of the ways he won my heart. He was on the ground playing with them, wrestling and always the one instigating happy squealing--today he's still the same, and he has an even deeper crevice in my heart. Happy Father's Day Sweetheart!
